@pedobear - You can upload them. From admin: "On protected pages we add entries on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the artist and/or label. All automatically rejected entries are entered into a pool that we periodically review, and we then approve the ones we can." |

"That's Hamilton from Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds, who he sampled." Oh no you didn't just say that! Which song? |

stationary unit said on Sunday, 29 January 2012:
I haven't heard of any re-openings of the case, so I'm pretty sure Drake's camp did pay up. And good for them, because they'd be stupid not to. Also, if you look at the songwriter credits for Drake's song, you'll see "Danny Robert Hamilton" credited. That's Hamilton from Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds, who he sampled. If the case is over, then I see no reason to keep that submission hidden. I'm also in support of putting back up that "Do It for the Boy" sample in the same Drake song. I mean, Drake has admitted it, the producer of the song ended up getting 25% of the royalties (he's also credited as a songwriter: "Nakia S. Coleman"), and I doubt that Lil Wayne is gonna sue Drake. |

Obviously, they are trying to hide it because it ain't here. |

Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 28 January 2012:
Lol...trying to deny it? Have you heard Best I Ever Had? It's like a blatant rip of the original. It's not like they tried to hide it or anything. So no, I'm not understanding it. |

stationary unit said on Saturday, 28 January 2012:
Apparently, there was a settlement between Drake and Playboy, which of course ended with Drake's camp needing to pay up. Then, the suit was dismissed (though Playboy can still petition to reopen the case if Drake's camp didn't pay). http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2011/05/drake_playboy_lawsuit.php |

I'm understanding it. If I stole something and I'm trying to deny it, I wouldn't want the evidence easily available on a website. |

Jay Gumbs said on Friday, 27 January 2012:
I'm wondering why the sample for Best I Ever Had isn't here. They already got in trouble for sampling it so why try to hide it? Everyone knows what the sample is by now and it's even on Wikipedia. |

Why does Drake not want more content to be added. Is this for real? Him or some executives from the record company? What a bunch of dicks! |

WOW! This is really unbelievable... Please note: at the request of the artist, this page is protected, meaning that no further content can be added by community members for this artist. SO... "at the request of your fans, please quit sampling music so we don't have to come look it up" |

Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 12 November 2011:
Nah put the Youtube links. When they get taken down they'll get replaced. Grooveshark should always be a last resort. |

Nick(Limited Submitter) said on Saturday, 12 November 2011:
Yes it was leaked, and by the way all the Youtube videos will get taken down, especially with the "Take Care Tracks", so it's best to put the Grooveshark links for now. |

Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 12 November 2011:
I don't think so but wasn't it leaked? Wasn't it supposed to come out 15th? |

Nick(Limited Submitter) said on Saturday, 12 November 2011:
Ok Jay, And technically, Take Care wasn't released yet, Right? |
![]() |
Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 12 November 2011:
Oh wow. The Take Care samples are going up. Nick I think you can submit them (according to Spinks comment) and admin will decide if they can be approved. Don't mind the rejected message - once you submit them they're in the database with your credit. |

Drake is being sued for "Best I Ever Had" (http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.11576/title.drake-sued-by-playboy) for copyright infringement. I could see why the page was requested to be protected. It sucks, though, the song started out as a mixtape track and possibly didn't really need to have the sample cleared, since the mixtape wasn't sold at the time it was released. Still, Drake's label could have tried to get the sampled cleared out before releasing the track for radio play. |

I want to find out the sample in "Over". Drake and Boi-1da claim that no samples were used. I can say that the music on the chorus part sounds A LOT like the violins were lifted from a cross between "Wildflower" by New Birth, "Cause I Love You" by Lenny Williams, and "Walk On By" by Isaac Hayes. Does anyone agree with this? The melody throughout the verses sounds very familiar but I can't place it! |

A question from a friend: anyone know where the piano samples at 4:12 & 4:21 are from in Forever? I don't think these are against the rules, as they sound like a classical track to me... not sure? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDuRoPIOBjE&feature=fvst |

I can't even submit covers/samples of Drake's stuff. I got this message after posting one: "Thanks for your submission. However, it was declined since Drake is a protected artist in the system. This means that at the request of Drake, no further content can be added by the community for this artist.". What happens to my submission, by the way? Is it secretly queued for review or just not added? |
