Also, since nobody bothers to post it on this site, The drums for Troy come from James Brown's Say it loud im black and proud. |

Nope.remember that pete rock used the horn riff at 0:54 for the verses and only used the riff at 1:38 for the chorus. Here is a video that remakes the track completely using the same sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtjgwIssWm4 |

I just tried pitching down the original sample from "Today" to where Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth had it for "T.R.O.Y.", and i noticed that the Saxophone part for the two tracks sounded very different. I think the saxophone part was re-recorded while the bassline and background vocals were directly sampled. |

We've got already 100 people who rated it. I think there's no other track on WhoSampled with such a large number of ratings (correct me if I'm wrong). |

True... that bassline would start at 0:56. Maybe should be noted as well? |

gives me goosebumps when it comes to the saxophon |

M1989 said on Monday, 07 December 2009:
T.R.O.Y not only samples the saxaphone hook, but if you listen clearly the bassline is also sampled. Hence, whole track is appropriate |

Mike D said on Monday, 07 December 2009:
Nice one. However, to be a stickler, why is this labeled as "Part Sampled: Whole Track"? It's clearly just the hook that was sampled. |

NBA Street Vol. 2! Playing that game, I would often choose to listen to T.R.O.Y. ovah and ovah again. |

I remember listening to the original sample on "The Boondocks", and the part on T.R.O.Y. came on, and I was really surprised. |
