While I agree that it would be awesome to see a recreation of this, Someone would have to replay to the guitar riff and I don't know who would really take the time to do that lol.

ArthurCh said on Saturday, 13 April 2013:
It would be cool if someone mixed all those samples together and tried to create a version of this song without Kanye.

Can Someone Please Change this To "Replayed" Ken Lewis already stated that this was not a direct sample. and was a Reworking of the original sample with a live chorus.

@jwhamley: That is amazing!

this was actually replayed according to ken lewis... http://www.gearslutz.com/board/rap-hip-hop-engineering-production/530891-mike-dean-ken-lewis-2-guitars-power-kanye-west.html

Unbelievable. Kanye took such an obscure song with a totally different vibe to it, and tuned it into such a powerful track (pardon the pun). The original song has almost a goofy feel, a poor adjective I know, and Mr, West turned into something that really punches, really physically effects one, as well as sonically. The first time I heard Power it was like I lost my breath. Hats off to Kanye, because it is so rare that music generates that reaction anymore.

BroughtTheNoise said on Sunday, 10 July 2011:
He's self-produced most of his music, and "The College Dropout" was entirely self-produced. So yeah, believe it or not, it took a lot of crate-digging from Yeezy himself.

so.... here's what i don't get:
how is kanye able to find all these awesome samples?
because i just can't see someone that ostentatious going crate-digging in a dusty old record store...

How long does this site take to process a sample submission? Cause I had submitted this sample a while back. And then because it seemed to be taking a long time to appear on the site, I put the sample credit on Wikipedia, whereupon most people found it.

kidwho: I thought the same thing when I first heard it. If you do an edit I'd love to hear it.
