you gotta remember t.i. or his label chose this beat i remember 9th wonder made a good point about producers getting criticized for beats like this saying "what am i gonna do turn down a $25,000 dollar check?. . .if they pick 16 they pick 16"

Never mind. Ignore that last post.

A cover with lyrics with no relevance to the original song besides the melody?I don't think so.

its no exhibit c but i think just blaze did a pretty good job its a little poppy for me but it was descent he could of had more going on during the verse besides just that baseline and drums but the hook was done well with the violins. but overall not his best work

Ya'll crazy. I dunno. I like it.

Known as the worst song to sample? Hmmmm. Well. I think Just Blaze challenged himself and pulled it off. But they couldn't have pulled this off without Rihanna. Without her, I think this would have flopped so everyone did their part. Not saying this is the best sample in the world but when y'all say "disappointed" and "everybody makes mistakes"...I don't get it cause the song isn't that bad and I think Just Blaze did a good job on the beat.

However, I think it's about time this got retired from the front page, lol.

...this was produced by Just Blaze? Ohhh man... I am incredibly disappoint.

Most of the song is completely different, I agree, but it's a partial cover because she sings part of the song with the original lyrics and another part with new lyrics to the same melody. Meanwhile, there have been over a hundred covers of this around the world, many of them very successful on their own. There have actually been parodies of the covers, as well as parodies of the original. To get a feel of the international popularity of the song, youtube the 4 or 5 "numa chorus line" videos by myahkeitaro. There are also tons of remixes of the original and covers.

Oh, and people are still doing lip syncs almost every day too, but I prefer real covers and remixes of the song myself.

Oh, and the writer of the song, Dan Balan is having a continuing good solo career. See Crazy Loop and Chica Bomb. Crazy Loop hit Number One in some European countries, I believe. And it's in English.

it's also known as the worst record you could ever sample (close second is Eiffel 65's I'm blue maybe), but hey.... everybody makes mistakes

Dragostai Din Tei is also known as the "Numa Numa" song

A cover is the same song done by different artists. These two are clearly not the same song. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_version

danny_c98812 said on Saturday, 16 May 2009:
hmm....maybe it is a cover

ozonefan said on Thursday, 14 May 2009:
Perhaps the T.I./Rihanna song, "Live Your Life" is more of a cover/remake than just a sample. She sings the myahee and other new lyrics to part of the melody. "Dragostea Din Tei" by Ozone has, in fact, been covered, remixed, and remade over and over all over the world from Japan to Korea to Austria to America. Rihanna's version is probably the first mainstream cover to be played to any large degree on American Radio. Go to youtube and search for Numa Chorus Line. There's a fan there that has made several videos with clips from the many covers and remakes of this catchy song. And the guy who wrote the song, Dan Balan, is still making hits in Europe with his English Language project, Crazy Loop. That's all over youtube as well. I hope he makes it big here myself.
