some of you have to understand the difference between a beatmaker and a producer. a beatmaker makes beats and thats it. Dre is a producer/ beatmaker. he can make his own beats no need to explain that because there is large amounts of evidence through out his career that shows it, but he also produces. meaning he doesnt have to play a single thing. a producer is someone who understands music and how a record should soud. what he does is get the right people in the same room and have them play what ever they play, or what ever he tells them to play, and Dre gives the yay or nay to either keep it or switch it up. Timbaland, storch, kanye, irv gottie all the producers do it. thats producing!

I guess you can't look at Dre in the traditional sense of a rap producer. For years, I thought he was responsible for most of the composition and production. So when I found out about how his role as producer mostly entailed seeing over the overall project, I became rather disappointed.

i'm chocked ! more so cause i'm french !
Dre may be really overrated, often he only composes the beat, Mel-Man does the keys (Scott Storch too before) and Camara Kambon for the bass.
And like Buzz-Duh said, he chooses what he likes, and mixes all that (very good). Maybe he's more of a producer than a composer... i can't beleive how Detox is that much anticipated !!

It's cool, there's nothing wrong with that.
There's a lot of different music styles and sample out there, all these foreign records annd things are hard to find and identify.

Buzz-Duh said on Tuesday, 19 January 2010:
Don't quote me, but its highly likely that Dre didn't find this sample himself. He usually has other musicians and producers do most of the work and he basically picks and chooses what he likes.
