I remember reading somewhere that it's on an old sound effects record and I'm sure that's where Grand Wizard Theodore got it from. Not sure if the old record took it from "Serpico" though it's possible. But I'm pretty sure that all subsequent uses of it are sampled from "Military Cut". |

Yeah, you're probably right. Wouldn't be surprised if it's actually from the movie though. |

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm not sure if it's actually from there though. I think that's what's always said at a firing range over a loudspeaker. |

Hey MrBlondNYC. I have a feeling you've seen the 1973 movie Serpico with Al Pacino. Just watched it tonight. You should check it out again. |

Jay Gumbs said on Sunday, 05 February 2012:
Definitely not where he got it from. |

MrBlondNYC said on Saturday, 20 August 2011:
Sure, but since he sampled MIlitary Cut in other songs and other songs from Wild Style before, I just figured... |

Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 20 August 2011:
You might be right but how is it 'most likely'? You don't think a producer like Muggs got some rare old stuff? |
![]() |
MrBlondNYC said on Saturday, 20 August 2011:
It's most likely that they got it from here anyhow. |

Jay Gumbs said on Saturday, 20 August 2011:
Still needs to find the original sample that was used in both songs but I guess this will do for now. |
