Wow, did you see that Daft Punk is about to release a new album, possibly collaborating with Nile Rodgers? http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/mar/19/daft-punk-muppets-collaboration

Alex Ac said on Sunday, 05 June 2011:
i have just discovered sumthing , the street noise at the beggining of Da Funk was not sampled from a song, i have Mixcraft , and in the sound library there is a sound called NYC Street 4 , and its the sample Daft Punk Used :)

Alex Ac said on Tuesday, 24 May 2011:
@ikekokiri i already submited that , it got rejected but feel free to check out this vid my friend made about that sample : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKbUzxxOgY0&feature=channel_video_title

The Jerry Goldsmith Sample Does Exist In The Song , its the Bass , ill post the link when i find it

Xanadu said on Tuesday, 09 November 2010:
A making-of would be awesome... :)

Spinks said on Tuesday, 09 November 2010:
The synth riff is Verdis Quo is indeed somewhat similar to Cerrone's Supernature, but it's a stretch to call it an interpolation - it's not close enough and quite generic. We've had this submitted in the past and rejected it.

As for the alleged sample of Jerry Goldsmith's The Rec Room, I don't get it at all - I've listened to the whole of it and really can't see the connection. Anyone who can shed light on that would be very welcome.

Xanadu said on Monday, 08 November 2010:
@FunkyJE: Thanks for sharing, I had a listen to both tracks.

Jerry Goldsmith - The Rec Room
http://youtu.be/9JiSQ30357o (just a short clip of it)

Didn't spot it in this clip, or the full version in mp3 I downloaded

Cerrone - Supernature
http://youtu.be/V112pTo--Js

0:23 does sound similar... not sure about that one.

FunkyJE said on Monday, 08 November 2010:
I found a CD called Discovered: A Collection of Daft Punk Samples. It said that Verdis Quo sampled Supernature by Cerrone and that Around the World sampled The Rec Room by Jerry Goldsmith. They haven't been submitted here, so does anybody know about these samples? are they ''real''

Alex Ac said on Wednesday, 15 September 2010:
@ acebeatgroup i Submitted It , Im Just Waiting For It To Be Approved :)

acebeatgroup said on Wednesday, 15 September 2010:
the sample for the song has been possibly found Fresh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aP9LzFK2Lc&feature=sub
I mean this is just speculation but...it might be it

thetoma said on Thursday, 03 June 2010:
Then is a cover, it's on Soulwax album "nite versions", I think is a cover even if lyrics and sounds are a little bit differents... I'll add it as soon as possible!

DJ Anubis said on Wednesday, 02 June 2010:
If it's released under Daft Punk's name with the tag (Soulwax version/edit/whatever) it's a remix... if it's released as Soulwax - Teachers... it's a cover... I think Soulwax are more the remixing kind (don't know for sure about this track though)

thetoma said on Wednesday, 02 June 2010:
What do you think about Soulwax version of "Teachers"? Is a cover or is a sample?

Xanadu said on Wednesday, 21 April 2010:
Thanks, stationary1234. I searched the front of the CD and they indeed didn't list DJ Sneak as a featuring artist. Same case with One More Time where Romanthony isn't a featured artist (he sung it).

stationary unit said on Wednesday, 21 April 2010:
DJ Sneak is a writer on the song, but I don't really think writers should be credited as featured artists. (in case you're wondering, Daft Punk themselves are the ones singing on "Digital Love".)

Xanadu said on Wednesday, 21 April 2010:
DJ Sneak isn't a featured artist on Digital Love, but shouldn't he be? (http://www.discogs.com/Various-NOW-Dance/release/190901)

TheSublimeSupine said on Friday, 09 April 2010:
Re. "Veridis Quo" - the sample from Cerrone's Supernature is just the annoying repetitive sound at the beginning of the tune that commences in Veridis Quo at 1:49... I'll submit it later.

m.aimran91 said on Monday, 01 March 2010:
Eddie Johns wasn't credited for One More Time

Alex Ac said on Friday, 12 February 2010:
That's Why I Put It On Whosampled Because i wanted to show that daft punk might listen to AC/DC for stuff that they want to do for their songs.

tortureg4 said on Thursday, 14 January 2010:
@stationary1234: The sample for Veridis Quo is for indeed Supernature by Cerrone .

stationary unit said on Thursday, 14 January 2010:
Yes, it did sample something...

tortureg4 said on Thursday, 14 January 2010:
@m.aimran91: There are videos online that show it. Search youtube for "Remaking Daft Punk's One More Time."

kidwho said on Thursday, 14 January 2010:
@m.aimran91: I think you'll find they did sample something for 'One More Time'......

m.aimran91 said on Thursday, 14 January 2010:
One More Time did not sample anything!

stationary unit said on Thursday, 17 December 2009:
"Veridis Quo" is said to sample the full version of Cerrone's "Supernature". If you have any idea what is sampled please comment.

Spinks said on Thursday, 03 December 2009:
Chris, we think you (and other users who flagged this sample) are right - it's not a direct sample and too generic to be considered as an interpolation. We've therefore removed it, but whoever wants to have a look at it, check out the similarity between the bell sounds at the beginning of "Aerodynamic" and the beginning of "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC.

chris2 said on Thursday, 03 December 2009:
Aerodynamic (2001) WAS NOT A SAMPLE OF HELLS BELLS.

Andrea said on Thursday, 10 September 2009:
They're the best!

Spinks said on Saturday, 23 May 2009:
Daft Punk... some of their sampling is very cheeky and almost annoying (e.g. Robot Rock), some of their sample sources are downright cheesy (Barry Manilow!), but their genius always shines. And in a well-justified twist of fate, they've now become one of the most sampled acts in hip-hop over the last couple of years. Respect!
