Well, it's not as if I'm the biggest fan of these listings, but there is no reason why we shouldn't have them. They're official mashup releases on the soundtrack of a computer game, and that's allowed. As far as I understand, you don't actually mix / mash the actual audio on DJ Hero, you just "play" along with the track, hitting the right buttons at the right timings. Apparently it's what kids like these days, I'm getting too old :) So that means these are actual pre-recorded tracks. Let's keep these listings on the site, for whoever is interested. As for movie soundtrack releases, we don't mind showing tracks that were on in the film itself, regardless of whether they appeared on an audio soundtrack release - we are just holding back with showing film dialogue samples since they require special features for attribution to an actor, character name, timing in the film etc and we'd like to get that right before launching it. |

I personally try to post only the ones released on the album, although I hate to admit I sinned against this 1 or 2 times when I think it's interesting enough. But that's the thing... there are rules, but there's always exceptions, but only when they're interesting enough... What's interesting about these? Who will come to this site wondering what was used in the mix?? Never played the game, but pretty sure you see on screen which song are playing? |

I didn't know about the DVD thing. What if its a CD & DVD and the particular track is only on the DVD side. |

Besides: since when is mixing two records sampling? Didn't realise when I was spinning records that I was sampling? We say: no DVD releases, only if they have an audio release, so why is this an exception? |

Another vote for removal too. I don't think they have any place on here for a multitude of reasons, not least of which being that they're essentially unreleased bootleg mashups. Furthermore, because the game is based around you, the user, creating the track mash the player becomes the remix artist, so again, not a true release. If they were available as finished tracks on a proper album, with proper accreditation, then fine. But as it currently stands it's nothing more than a console game. I'm pretty sure there'd be absolute chaos if I submitted all the samples used for the Playstation 1 release Music 2000. The only thing I can think of that would be even more silly than this would be someone's best score on guitar hero being posted as a cover >:0) |

Can't we just get rid of these? they are so obvious. About a week ago, I approved 4 or 5 of them as DJ Hero, not knowing what it really was about. It does sound like a person, no? I'll take this to the admins right now. Feel free to comment if you find them valuable still... |

Spotted a couple of mess ups here. 1. Paper Planes/Looking at me needs cover art (DJ Hero cover art I assume). 2. Paper Planes/Looking at me should be MIA and Wale instead of MIA featuring Wale. Shouldn't it? 3. Both songs that sample Feel Good Inc. shouldn't they also be a sample of the other song? Not sure why they should be remixes. Other than that I agree with DJ Anubis. |
