- Tru Life and some friends wants to set up Mobb Deep in a studio, but Prodigy and Havoc were not present. They had big guns, pistol whipped a man, stripped him naked. GZA and DJ Muggs were also in the studio but they didn´t get harmed.
The reason for this action was Prodigy sold Tru-Life a verse for a song, but Prodigy used the same verse on a song for the Any Given Day soundtrack.
Since 2009 Tru-Life is in jail for a first degree murder charge. If he is guilty he faces life behind bars.

- Christopher Wallace had to change his name from Biggie Smalls so he didn't get confused with a child rapper from the west coast named Biggie Smallz who worked with Johnny J.

- Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five's "The Message", Public Enemy's "Fear Of A Black Planet" and 2Pac's "Dear Mama" are the only hip hop recordings in the National Recording Registry

- The line "I drop bombs like Hiroshima" from Kris Kross - "Da Bomb" was edited out of song for the album's Japanese release.

- Da Brat is the half sister of the actress LisaRaye McCoy.

- In 2007,Da Brat was involved in the altercation at a nightclub. Da Brat attacked a woman and hit her in the face with a bottle. Da Brat was sentenced to three years in prison and seven years of probation. .In May 2010 she was released after 21 months.

- Pimp C´s father played the trumpet professionally with Solomon Burke.

- Pimp C was singing the UGK hooks because, a lot of times in the studio UGK don’t have nobody to sing on the hooks. Back then, when they was doing the early records,they didn’t have no money to pay no singer, so Pimp C had to sing ‘em. He come from a classical background, he grow up singing Italian sonnets and negro spirituals. Pimp C also received a Division I rating on a tenor solo at a University Interscholastic League choir competition. In one of the fights the two Bay Area Rapper E40 and Mac Minister were involved.E40 beat Mac Minister so bad that he was hospitalized.Only five awards were given out before the show was cancelled.

- In 2005 Mac Minister , found guilty for the murder of Kansas City rappers Fat Tone and a friend of Fat Tone in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mac Minister was profiled on Americas Most Wanted. They catched him after a 10 month manhunt. He was sentenced to live in prison without parol.

- Soulman was also known as Phill Most Chill, and he put out a few songs in the 90s.

- Rap-A-Lot Records had to midgets in the label roster. Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys and Bar-None of Too Much Trouble.
Bar-None was shorter than Bushwick Bill and he was white.
