Lol, no I wouldn't do that. I think at this point, the only way I can convince someone to approve it is if the album credits say that it's an interpolation or there is an interview with Akon verifying that it is. It sucks though, since it's so obvious.

If it's good enough for wiki to mention it, i'd say the connection is strong enough! unless of course you edited the wiki page heheh

Well it didn't get approved after all. Sad, since there is no doubt that it is.

I already emailed back. This happened one other time with another sample I submitted but another staff member fixed it up pretty quickly.

On the basis of "the lyrics aren't the same,," surely that renders all of Weird Al's tracks inadmissable?! I would suggest getting in touch with the admin team and ask for their opinion in the nicest way possible (Xanax on standby)

I'm not trying to make a scene but a mod just denied this connection saying the "the lyrics aren't the same". Are you kidding me? A lyrical interpolation can have completely different lyrics as long as it's the same melody. I have no problem when a mod wants to challenge a sample submission of mine with a reasonable explanation, but when they reject a sample because they can't make an obvious melody connection to it like this it gets kind of frustrating. (just popped a Xanax and feeling better now)

Glad I could help

That's the song!

SmuttySy said on Tuesday, 04 May 2010:
Oops, replied in the song's listing. Try Akon's Bananza, also known as the Belly Dancer track

Does anyone know the newer R&B dance song that interpolates the chorus from "For What It's Worth"?
