As Walter said, in brackets it states 'Remake' which it clearly is. Anyway, for me it is more interesting to discuss about two other submissions of mine. Here the definition of sampling/covering is not what is need to be discussed, but here it is really about musical ideas: - Leftfield feat. John Lydon's Open Up sample of The Future Sound of London's Papua New Guinea [already asked for a 2nd opinion], - The Prodigy's Speedway (Theme From "Fastlane") sample of 808 State's Flow Coma. |

I think you did well, Science ! After cover/ it says: remake (which this is). Whilst the boy's melody line differs clearly a bit, the girl is singing pretty much the same. Also in 2008, there was kind of an answer song with Arschgesicht by Bangbros, using elements of both versions and (provokingly?) crediting the original writers. Feel free to add (cos I hate it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8POz0HXaxI |

How would you feel about "replaying the hook" (or the whole track)? To me there's no doubt it's an influence, but covering? I think the melody isn't 100% the same (the lalala's), not that that's a guideline as to being a cover or not, but in this case there's too many differences between these two. Ofc: this is my personal opinion |

There were 2 options when submitting: - lyrics are covered / alliterated in the same way - replayed sample of the voice/lyrics Do not know, hard to choose, the options are almost exchangeable. I choose cover. |

YES! Finally an explanation for knowing this song... that original gave me chills, totally forgot about that, used to (and actually still) love it. Clearly written by the Gala people, very similar. On the other hand: isn't cover saying just a little too much? Both are extremely close, but cover? Not sure |

Nice one, thanks! Apparently, the German hit did not credit the original 4 Italian?/Swiss? writers (2 of them also responsible for Gala's Freed From Desire and Let a Boy Cry). |
