Just to make note, the added bridge and portions to the Carpenters version were already written by Williams and Nichols in case artists wanted to pick it up. Freddie Allen technically covered this before the Carpenters with the added bridge. Since the added parts were already written before that version, the Carpenters version shouldn't be considered a cover of that version. Also, Paul Williams later re-recorded the song with the added bridge but that version shouldn't be accidentally placed here since that was made after the Carpenters version.
