@MrBlondNYC - we genuinely don't know more than what I wrote below. They asked for the sample pages to be removed and we did it. @evil_twin - they asked nicely. I think the whole sample clearance issue has been discussed here before (mainly on the Cunninlynguists' page). For the time being it's a tiny minority of samples that got removed. If the circumstances change in the future, we'll find the best way to try and keep everyone happy.

I wanna know did they threaten some type of legal action or did they really ask nicely?
I mean, What's to stop all record labels from just asking to have their all content removed?

MrBlondNYC said on Thursday, 15 April 2010:
I really want to know please. Spinks, what is the reason exactly?

MrBlondNYC said on Tuesday, 13 April 2010:
I had a Pete Rock sample removed. I wonder is it the fact that it is easily accessible with the videos that the artists/labels don't like or they just don't want any kind of acknowledgement of the samples anywhere at all?

evil_twin said on Tuesday, 13 April 2010:
lol, It wasn't just Termanology, I had a song by Havoc removed also.
I got a feeling Nature Sounds didn't have sample clearance and is trying not to get caught.

Why does it seem like only white hip-hop producers/musicians want their samples removed? I'm not making this a race issue or anything, just a strange observation.

Spinks said on Tuesday, 13 April 2010:
Sure - they've asked for some of their content to be removed from the site. As always, it is our policy to respect such requests when coming from the artists or labels. Apologies to all users who submitted content that got removed. For any further questions or concerns, please contact Nature Sounds: http://www.nature-sounds.net/
