Yeah, French Hip-hop is a legendary culture... Sadly nowadays what we hear at the radio is just awful... and there's no underground rap in France or it's so rare... But classic french hip-hop was the sh... And French electro is what we do the best in the world :-D (even if i'm much more into hip-hop french electro is just excellent). And don't matter if you need to practise, you know french is so complicated... even frenchies are not good to talk in French lol... But in terms of frequentation it must be my fault lol. ah and we got Du-Bruit.com and the sampleur-samplé forum, there's a lot of french diggers !

BTW France is the third largest country on WhoSampled in terms of visitor numbers (after the US and UK). The contribution of French artists to the world of sampling can't be understated, from French House and Hip-Hop to all the sampled greats.

:) I do speak French though if it's any consolation (but need to practice more, I'm really rusty)

Oh alright, i was wondering... Cause you created this great site and you're from London i found strange what they said !

Spinks said on Monday, 09 January 2012:
Hehe, nope, they got this bit of info wrong, they referred to Joseph who works with us at the WhoSampled team but he isn't the creator of the site

Oh my god, that's one of the reasons why the french accent is called gay lol... Not proud of it. Btw she said that the site was created by a french person, is it right ???

Nice advertising. Very positive and yay for a cover I added being played. ^^

Yeah, WhoSampled was featured on French morning TV, showing Serge's page, so it's getting some attention. To watch the clip, go to http://telematin.france2.fr/ then "Voir" on the top left corner, then select the show from 06/01/2012 and "Site du jour 2".

Page probably got shared on a social network, stumbleupon or by a celebrity (or something).

I was wondering the same thing.

Drpepperfan said on Sunday, 08 January 2012:
Hmm? Why is Serge suddenly in the popular artists?

spy in the cab said on Saturday, 18 September 2010:
Interesting : most of the covers that gainsbourg made were covers of his own songs (songs that he had written for other people). When the writers/composers will be on Whosampled?
