I hear you Anubis, there must be something good to be said for music that lasts hundreds of years. It turns out that Tchaikovsky sampled a lot but his samples are hard to reference. For example his first String Quartet samples a song Tchaikovsky heard a house painter singing and his 1st Piano Concerto apparently samples songs he heard beggar musicians playing. Sort of makes you wonder about the whole controversy with sampling in general. There's more Tchaikovsky samples out there to be found but most have probably been lost forever. |

Some people don't appreciate classical music, but Tchaikovsky's whole Nutcracker Suite, Pachelbel's Canon in D Major & Bach's Air for G-String... I think everybody enjoys these (the first is probably a favourit of a lot of people.... I blame Disney...). Anybody else here like something particular in this genre? |
