@m.aimran91: It would become a big mess if everyone posted in different languages. Let's just stick to English...

TheSublimeSupine said on Monday, 10 May 2010:
Need I point out the irony of asking a non-English speaker, IN ENGLISH, to post in English ? Nah, I guess I don't. Oops, I just did.

Broke my laptop, so that's why I haven't logged on in a while, but just dropped by the pay my respects to the man, and one half of the group, that introduced me to real hip hop, and sampling. Guru is really the only artist who's death has actually saddened me. "Read, study lessons and build your inner power".... Yes Guru. R.I.P

What I appreciated most about Guru is that he stood out in the era of gangster rap for the way he shunned materialism, guns and drugs as topics of his rhymes. He complimented Premier's beats because his style was understated - he never tried to steal the show. My favourite Guru line - "But anyway, it's just another day - another fake jack I slay with my spectac' rap display..."

R.I.P Guru. Only found out because of Spinks' comment. I was a great fan of Gang Starr and some material from Jazzmatazz.

Spinks said on Tuesday, 20 April 2010:
R.I.P Guru (July 17, 1966 - April 19, 2010). His contribution to sample-based Hip-Hop was immense. Way too young - he will be missed.
