The bass-line from Rick James's Give it to me is very close to the one in Thriller. Would be a valid sample IMO. Rick James's bass-line loop ends every time at another note. One of the ending notes must be identical to the one in Thriller where it ends every time at the same note.
i think 110% , that MJ Sampled Rick James's Give it To Me for Thriller !
Some of the laughter samples are from the Thriller voice-over session.Starts in 2:32.
Whew! When I first read your comment, I was like, "Oh, no! What did I say?" Then I read the rest of your comment and I get it.But I wish I knew what he could have done on his tour. It was hard to watch his rehearsal footage, knowing we could never see the full effect.
Oh and what I wanted to say: check back regularly, cos with the addition of remixes, his page will get a lot more submissions ^^
Hey Foggy, thx for your words. You almost make it sound as if his death was the best thing that could happen to him (which I'm 100% sure is not what you mean), but I can't help but wonder what would've happened if those O2 concerts would've happened, and I'm sure that's what a lot of people wonder about...
Now that his one year of death anniversary is approaching, I really take a moment to reflect on all the great things that he has done, coupled with all the hardships he had to endure at the hands of the twisted media. I wish he was still alive, but at the same time, you can't say he didn't get the last laugh. All that crap they talk about? He doesn't have to hear it anymore. PLUS he got the surge of popularity that outshone all the naysayers. And now in this generation I hear modern artists paying respect to him in this way. I could never be happier. Can't choose my favorites, but a great sample is "Right Here," by SWV, "It ain't hard to tell,," by NAS, and "Watch Me," by Little Brother!!R.I.P. Mon Frere.
My two favorite Michael Jackson samples is: LL Cool J - Hey Lover ft. Boyz II Men also samples by MJ - The Lady In My Life, and Nas - It Ain't Hard to Tell. Rest In Peace to the King of Pop 1958-2009
DJ Anubis you're right sorry for my previous comment
Why isn't anyone sampling that opening beat of Who Is It? :)
Aimran, talking about It ain't hard to tell? Listen for the vocals in the background (headphones might help) that 'taratata' (why why, tell me that is human nature) or what are the right lyrics? (As someone commented on it the vocals are around 3:33 in the original)
I don't hear a bit of Human Nature in Nas' song?
